Short on sleep? Sleepless nights?
Have you spent countless hours tossing and turning, never to get a good nights sleep? Do you toss and turn, adjust the pillow, then the blanket? Do you move your spouse over, just trying to get to the sweetest spot in the entire bed? Do you lie awake and watch the clock tick another minute, then another one and another, until, just before daylight, you drift off?
How do I know what these nights are like? Experience! So I went internet surfing for the “ONE” thing that might provide me with a good night sleep, not just once, but every night, night after night. And here is what I found works for me…..
Drum roll please!
A queen size, dual control heated mattress pad. Turns out, I was just cold. With the dual controls of this blanket, my husband and I are both pleased! We bought it off Amazon, put it on the bed the day we received it and have slept comfortably every night since.
So if this little thing made such a difference, what else could I find?
Here are a few more finds from around the internet. Though, I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried any but the Kindle, (which I dearly love and wouldn’t go to sleep without it) but I thought they all look quite interesting and worth further review. If you try any of these, please let our readers know what you think.
Weighted Blankets: I don’t need research to prove to me the worth of a heavier blanket. I have always enjoyed the weight of a heavy quilt over me in the winter. The one on my bed this winter was made for me by my niece and her daughter. Being heavier than the average blanket, I sleep much better with the quilt pulled over my shoulders and tucked under my chin. Now, research has proven, these heavier blankets are a good for persons suffering with PTSD, aspergers and autism. Learn more here on Amazon.
Feet, do you keep them under the blanket or outside the covers? If you’re like me, BOTH! But no matter where my feet are, I want them toasty warm. These sockS by SMART WOOL will do the trick. (Would someone please tell my husband about these?!? I think these would be a great Christmas gift!)
What about flannel sheets? My husband grew up in a drafty old farmhouse so he swears flannel sheets are the greatest sheets for the cold months. Personally, I never found them to be my favorites, but he likes them. So we have a set…
Here are a few more suggestions!
A Kindle to read yourself to sleep or Eye masks, Essential oil diffuser/humidifier, White noise machine, or Fitness monitor for your sleep.
SLEEP WELL MY FRIENDS!
